Rainhill
being such a special place where people love to spend time, it came as a natural
thought to host a Craft Market. A day of various events where people can come
and enjoy Rainhill Farm and it's magic. The Craft Markets are held twice a
year, usually the first Sunday of May (Autumn Market) and the first Sunday
of December (Christmas Market). The craft stalls, all of which may only sell
items that are hand or home made, are put along the bluegum lane, which is
closed to vehicle traffic on the day, allowing for a leisurely browse. At
the Lapa area, a charities (eg. SPCA, CANSA, HOSPICE, Spes Bona, etc) run
a few selected food stalls (usually in the line of pancakes, tea garden, 'vetkoek'
& mince, hot dogs) and cooler refreshments are also available, with space
to sit and relax. The farm yard is a great attraction for the children, with
various activities to entertain which could range from snake shows, sand craft,
'kettie-skiet', 'kleilat gooi' (traditional games), pony rides, and the ever
popular tractor rides. The Chapel is open if you'd like somewhere to sit in
peace and quiet and the Labyrinth is a wonderful experience (see the section
on the Labyrinth). Hartley's has a special menu for the day and serve drinks
and sit-down meals. In general it is a wonderful way for friends and family
to spend a Sunday and all leave refreshed. If you are interested in having
a stall, please contact us to book, otherwise, keep these dates open for a
wonderful outing.
